The purpose of darkdose.com is simple: expose as many open minded individuals to as much quality dark music as possible. Every music fan enjoys exposing friends to a new artist, a new album or a new song which has caused a deep emotional impact. You share the music and watch as an uncontrollable smile streaks across their face - instant gratification for both with the possibility of a musical passion that can last a lifetime.

Of course, this phenomenon can only occur when you share the same musical taste. As I am sincerely passionate about dark music, as are the other contributors to this web site, this is where the focus shall lie. What do I mean by "dark music"? In general, I mean music that has the capacity to connect with feelings of a melancholic nature. Some adjectives used to describe much of this style of music are haunting, emotional, angst-ridden, or gloomy. It doesn't specifically have to be downright depressing and sad (although it certainly can be). I am going to keep the term 'dark music' rather broad so it is possible to share songs we feel strongly about, but may not be able to be categorized as 'dark'. However, all efforts will be made to contribute as much dark music as possible.

darkdose.com was created by Jesse Haff and Jeff Brubaker. The lovely photos of the dilapidated piano and mood pills was taken by Brubaker. Haff did most of the site design. It is mainly powered by Wordpress.
